Tuesday, May 31, 2011 Dear Customer and Friend of the Port of Wilmington, Delaware: Re: TWIC Alert – Entire Port of Wilmington, Delaware Reverting to a Restricted Area Effective Wednesday, June 1, 2011, in accordance with Coast Guard requirements, the Port of Wilmington/DSPC will revert to an entirely restricted area. Therefore, all non-TWIC holders requiring access to the Port of Wilmington will need a certified TWIC Escort while on the port. Also, effective June 1, 2011, the DSPC will suspend the $30.00 day-pass fee for non-TWIC truck drivers until further notice. All Non-TWIC holders will use Lane 6 at the Port’s Main Gate between the hours of 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday to obtain an escort. After 3:00 PM and on weekends, the Non-TWIC holders will proceed to Lane 4. They will be directed to the hiring hall parking lot adjacent to the Main Gate to await their escort. Gettier Security is the certified TWIC Escort vendor used by the Port of Wilmington. They will be on-site during normal business hours Monday through Friday to provide the federally mandated escorting. If not onsite or if needed after hours they can be reached at (302) 652-2700. A Non-TWIC holder may be escorted by anyone who is a Port of Wilmington/DSPC- trained escort card holder; otherwise, Non-TWIC holders will be required to hire Gettier Service as its escort. Please refer any questions to Jerry Custis, DSPC Security Manager at 302-472-7817 or Matthew Eskridge, DSPC Security Supervisor at 472-7687. Thank you and regards, The Diamond State Port Corporation
